| Also known as Scots Pine, this is a hugely popular light-coloured, knotty, resinous wood, and is the principal joinery timber across Europe. Although not durable without treatment, redwood is a strong and stable softwood which polishes well, though knots and resin can cause finishing problems. For the planed all round (PAR) sections in the right hand column, the original sawn dimension is given first, followed by the measured or 'finished' size in brackets. The sawn sections of unsorted redwood in the left hand column can all be planed to order. If you are doing interior joinery, and are looking for sections that are clear of knots, please enquire about our Tulipwood. |
